I don’t really like raw tomatoes so usually we just make sauce with any fresh tomatoes we buy. We decided to venture beyond that today.
Tomatoes, basil, garlic and baguettes from the farmer’s market, inspired today’s lunch.
The Daughter loosely followed Julia Child’s recipe found here.
-Garlic stalk chopped and soaked in the olive oil with spices used to oil the bread.
-After toasting the bread in the frying pan, fresh pesto spread was on baguette.
-Bruschetta broiled in toaster oven to make tomatoes less juicy and gooey.
Some inspiration from Julie & Julia:
(almost) Everything in that meal was from a farmers’ market
Bruschetta: tomatoes, baguette w/FM basil (for the pesto)
Salad: Radishes, cucumbers, curly kale, spinach
We enjoy our produce.
